MSU-Meridian scholars benefit from Riley Foundation awards

MERIDIAN, Miss.— Eighteen talented Mississippi State University-Meridian students are receiving financial support from the Riley Foundation Scholars Program.
The competitive program provides two-year scholarship awards. Eligible students must have completed at least two years of study at a local community college with a grade-point average of 3.25 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale), as well as submitted an essay and personal statement with their application.
The current 2018-2019 class of Riley Scholars includes (by hometown):
COLLINSVILLE-- Megan Moffett, a junior elementary education major.
CUBA, AL-- Brett Boland, a junior secondary education major.
MERIDIAN-- Payton Grogan, a junior elementary education major and Cassie Green, a junior accounting major.
PHILADELPHIA-- Clover Eakes, a junior elementary education major.
ROSE HILL-- Samantha Bishop, a junior elementary education major.
SEBASTOPOL-- Destiny Carter, a junior business administration major.
SHUBUTA-- Luke Reynolds, a junior business administration major.
TOOMSUBA-- Kristi Sims, a junior elementary education major.
UNION-- Landon Bounds, a senior psychology major.
Chartered in 1998, The Riley Foundation works to improve the quality of life for Meridian and Lauderdale County citizens through charitable grants. Its partnership with MSU-Meridian has led to many educational advancements including the developments of the MSU Riley Center for Education and Performing Arts, the I. Alfred Rosenbaum Building, and the Robert B. Deen Jr. Building, all located downtown at the MSU Riley Campus.
