MERIDIAN, Miss.— The Riley Foundation Scholars Program is currently providing scholarship support to 17 talented MSU-Meridian students. The competitive program provides two-year scholarship awards. Eligible students must have completed at least two years of study at a local community college with a grade-point average of 3.25 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale), as well as provide an essay and personal statement with their application.

The current 2017-2018 class of Riley Scholars includes (by hometown):

BAILEY-- Jordan Vick, a senior elementary education major.
COLLINSVILLE-- Ian Garner, a senior interdisciplinary studies major.
DECATUR-- Alana Knowles, a senior psychology major.
FOREST-- Kearies Mays, a senior secondary education major.
HICKORY-- Melanie West, a senior accounting major.
MERIDIAN-- Allison Boyd, a junior accounting major; Sarah Dover, a junior elementary education major; Heather Harwell, a senior elementary education major; Mason Kiefer, a junior history major; Ashlynn Lee, a junior elementary education major; and Steven Pamplin, a senior business administration major.
NEWTON-- Amanda Creekmore, a junior business administration major; and Matthew Jackson, a junior who is currently undeclared.
PHILADELPHIA-- Emily Beckham, a junior elementary education major; Jarard “Cardale” Greer, a senior business administration major; and Hailey Pope, a senior elementary education major.
UNION-- Emilio Luna-Suarez, a senior kinesiology major.

Chartered in 1998, The Riley Foundation works to improve the quality of life for Meridian and Lauderdale County citizens through charitable grants. Its partnership with MSU-Meridian has led to many advancements including the developments of the MSU Riley Center for Education and Performing Arts, the I. Alfred Rosenbaum Building, and the Robert B. Deen Jr. Building, all located downtown at the MSU Riley Campus.
