MERIDIAN, Miss.— Fall classes at Mississippi State University-Meridian will start [Aug.16] with expanded services for students on both campuses.

A new Advisement and Career Services center is slated to open at the College Park Campus, providing students a centralized location to guide them from college to career. Also The Bulldog Shop, a new campus store at the downtown Riley Campus, will carry the latest MSU apparel, grab-and-go food service and renowned MSU ice cream and cheese.

New students can visit the Advisement and Career Services center to speak with Kristi Dearing, academic advising coordinator, or Candy Adams, academic adviser, concerning course offerings and class schedules. Returning students should contact their faculty adviser, or Dearing at kdearing@meridian.msstate.edu or call 601-484-0229.

Students looking for employment or internship opportunities while attending MSU or who need help with resume writing or job interview skills upon graduation can speak with Heather Woodall, senior coordinator. Employers looking for MSU graduates also can contact Woodall at hwoodall@career.msstate.edu or call 601-484-0159 [College Park Campus] or 601-696-2290 [Riley Campus].

“We are really excited about these new additions to our campuses in Meridian,” said Terry Dale Cruse, administrative director and head of campus.

“We’ve had an outstanding summer and made great progress in expanding partnerships with local community colleges.  The Advisement and Career Center will be the front door of our College Park Campus and a centralized location for helping students, while The Bulldog Shop downtown will literally bring MSU items and a taste of our heritage to Meridian,” added Cruse.
