Kahlmus Auditorium
The College Park Campus houses Kahlmus Auditorium, an 8,500 square foot multipurpose facility used for university-sponsored events. The auditorium is equipped with standard audio/visual technology and also offers users a partial service kitchen for any catering needs.
The facility was named in honor of Meridian residents and long-time MSU supporters, M. F. "Buddy" and Elizabeth Carter Kahlmus. Involved with MSU-Meridian from its beginning in 1972, the Kahlmuses played major roles in establishment of the campus. In addition, while serving as president and chairman of Deposit Guaranty National Bank, Mr. Kahlmus demonstrated his commitment to students by establishing bank-funded scholarships for deserving MSU-Meridian students.
Mrs. Kahlmus joined her husband in support of the Meridian Campus. Thanks to her ongoing generosity, the M. F. Kahlmus, Sr. Scholarship is awarded annually to a Meridian Campus social work student, while the Elizabeth Carter Kahlmus Scholarship helps pave the way for a liberal arts student to work toward a degree each year.
