MSU Riley Center adds Taylor Hicks to lineup

Black and white portrait of Taylor HicksThe MSU Riley Center is proud to announce that “American Idol” sensation Taylor Hicks has been added to its April lineup of superb entertainment.

Fans of "American Idol" are sure to remember the show’s blockbuster fifth season that featured Hicks, hailed as “part Stax, part Motown, and part honky-tonk” by The New York Times. 

Hicks’ intoxicating blend of soul, blues, country and rock 'n' roll quickly rendered him a household name as he progressed to the show’s record-breaking finale in 2006, a historic television event which drew an audience of more than 200 million viewers.

Hicks immediately followed his "American Idol" victory with a No. 1 Billboard single and a RIAA®-certified platinum debut and soon went on to make history as the first male "American Idol" champion featured on a GRAMMY-winning record (Jimmy Fallon’s Blow Your Pants Off) and the first to land a prestigious Las Vegas residency.

Tickets are on sale now, at $15 and $40; however, MSU students, faculty and staff get a special $10 ticket price by purchasing tickets day of show after noon. Discounted tickets may be purchased at the Riley Center box office with valid MSU ID.
