In addition to meeting minimum Graduate requirements for admission, students applying for admission to the Ed.S. programs in Elementary Education must hold or be eligible to hold a Class AA teaching certificate. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.20 out of 4.00 on all prior graduate study. Application materials may be obtained from the Student Services Office. Curriculum

The Ed.S. program in Elementary Education consists of thirty-one (31) semester hours. Unlike the M.S. degree program which requires specific course work, the Ed.S. program is tailor-made. This means once a student has been admitted to the program, an advisor will implement a sequence of course work, including a directed individual study and EPY 6214-Introduction to Statistics will be required for completiong of the degree.

Degree Requirements

An exit examination is required of all degree candidates. The exit examination may be taken during the semester or term in which final course work is being completed or later. However, a student must be enrolled for a minimum of one (1) semester hour of credit during the semester or term in which the exit examination is administered.
