MSU Meridian Campus - Missippi State University

Master of Business Administration

Entrance Requirements

|

Applicants for the MBA program should hold a bachelor's degree from a fully accredited four-year institution of higher learning. Because non-business undergraduates often find the MBA to be an attractive compliment to their baccalaureate degree, MSU-Meridian offers the MBA to both business and non-business undergraduates.

Applicants must take the Graduate Management Admission Test and score a minimum of 510. Admission requires a QPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 points over the last 60 semester hours of baccalaureate work. When the student is deficient in one of the criteria cited, the student's applicationmay be considered for admission based on the strength of other materials contained in the student's application. However, reasonable minimum levels must be achieved in both the applicant's QPA and GMAT scores.

Degree Requirements

|

Course work for the MBA program consists of the foundation, core and electives. At a minimum, all candidates for the MBA must complete 30 hours of course work beyond the foundation level. The foundation portion of the program consists of nineteen graduate hours that may be satisfied in part or total by prior undergraduate study, or graduate preparation after enrollment at MSU-Meridian. The foundation courses must be completed with a "C" or higher grade. If a non-business student has taken equivalent business courses as an undergraduate, those courses may be substituted for particular foundation courses.

Transfer Credits

|

Transfer credits may be accepted toward fulfilling the requirements for the master's degree, provided they were earned in programs enjoying full accreditation by the appropriate regional and national accrediting bodies and contribute to the presentation of a systematic program of graduate study. Please note that "C" grades are not acceptable. In no case will transfer credits constitute more than 6 hours credit of graduate course work.
