MSU-Meridian offers course work at the junior, senior, and graduate level. All undergraduate applicants should complete a minimum of 60 hours of transferable course work (including core requirements) at a community or junior college or other institution of higher learning and must earn a 2.0 grade-point average on all courses attempted. All graduate applicants should typically have a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution, a grade-point average of 2.75 on the last two years of undergraduate work, and a 3.0 on all graduate work already attempted.
Steps to follow for undergraduate admission:
- Submit a completed application at least 20 days prior to the date of registration. (Note that students who wish to be considered for scholarships must complete the application process by November 1 for the following spring semester and May 1 for the following fall semester.)
- Submit a $40 non-refundable application fee.
- Submit official copies of transcripts from all institutions attended. An applicant who misrepresents information or fails to provide information about prior college attendance is subject to disciplinary action, including dismissal from the University.
- Provide official ACT or SAT scores (for students who are missing units from the 30 core hours and for students who are planning to enroll in teacher education).
- Contact the Advising Center to schedule an appointment for an academic evaluation to determine if courses previously taken meet requirements for a specific major.
- Complete and submit Proof of Immunization Form (unless born before January 1, 1957)
Steps to follow for graduate admission:
- Submit a completed application.
- Submit a $60 non-refundable application fee.
- Complete and submit a statement of purpose.
- Submit three (3) letters of recommendation. An applicant who misrepresents information or fails to provide information about prior college attendance is subject to disciplinary action, including dismissal from the University.
- An applicant must request an official transcript from the bachelor's degree institution and from each colege or university attended following the bachelor's degree. If fewer than 60-70 hours were completed at the institution which awarded the bachelor's degree, an official transcript from the previous institution(s) is required as well.
- Note: Individual degree programs may require additional credentials, such as results of the GRE, GMAT or another standardized test score. Please refer to each Division´s Web page for details.
