Applying to Mississippi State University-Meridian

MSU-Meridian offers course work at the junior, senior, and graduate level. All undergraduate applicants should complete a minimum of 60 hours of transferable course work (including core requirements) at a community or junior college or other institution of higher learning and must earn a 2.0 grade-point average on all courses attempted. All graduate applicants should typically have a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution, a grade-point average of 2.75 on the last two years of undergraduate work, and a 3.0 on all graduate work already attempted.

Steps to follow for undergraduate admission:

• Submit a completed application at least 20 days prior to the date of registration. (Note that students who wish to be considered for scholarships must complete the application process by November 15 for the following spring semester and June 1 for the following fall semester.)
• Submit a $40 non-refundable application fee.
• Submit official copies of transcripts from all institutions attended. An applicant who misrepresents information or fails to provide information about prior college attendance is subject to disciplinary action, including dismissal from the University.
• Provide official ACT or SAT scores (for students who are missing units from the 24 core hours and for students who are planning to enroll in teacher education).
• Contact your advisor to schedule an appointment for an academic evaluation to determine if courses previously taken meet requirements for a specific major.  Arts & Sciences or Business majors contact Regena Clark at 601-484-0153. • Complete and submit Proof of Immunization Form (unless born before January 1, 1957)

Steps to follow for graduate admission:

• Submit a completed application.
• Submit a $40 non-refundable application fee.
• Complete and submit a statement of purpose.
• Submit letters of recommendation. Submit official transcripts showing the bachelor´s degree or work in progress toward the bachelor´s degree. Official transcripts from all colleges and universities previously attended must be submitted. An applicant who misrepresents information or fails to provide information about prior college attendance is subject to disciplinary action, including dismissal from the University.
• Submit official transcripts showing all work after the bachelor´s degree.
• Note: Individual degree programs may require additional credentials, such as results of the GRE, GMAT or another standardized test score. Please refer to each Division´s Web page for details.
